Job Title: Project Driver 

Organization: Community Development Volunteers for Technical Assistance (CDVTA)

Location: Bamenda

CDVTA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting community development and providing technical assistance to disadvantaged communities. We are currently seeking a reliable and responsible individual to fill the position of Project Driver.

Responsibilities:

  1. Safely transport project staff, volunteers, and materials to designated project sites, meetings, and other required destinations.
  2. Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, including regular check-ups, cleaning, and refueling.
  3. Assist with loading and unloading project-related materials and equipment.
  4. Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or issues.
  5. Observe road traffic laws and regulations at all times, ensuring the safety of passengers and other road users.
  6. Handle minor repairs and troubleshooting of the vehicle, such as changing tires or jump-starting the vehicle when needed.
  7. Report any accidents, damages, or trouble with the vehicle to the appropriate supervisor.
  8. Assist with project-related administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

  1. Valid driver's license appropriate for the position and clean driving record.
  2. Proven experience as a driver, preferably with a non-profit organization or in a community development setting.
  3. Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
  4. Ability to drive long distances and navigate through various terrains.
  5. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with project staff, volunteers, and community members.
  6. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  7. Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required.
  8. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  9. Familiarity with national roads all over the country is an added advantage.
  10. Respect for diverse cultures and communities.

Terms of Employment

This position will require a commitment of working most of the times outside of the North West Region.
